I love the idea of a fan fest and i’d be one of the people who would attend as much as possible. The problem is that Fred, Saul, and Jeff don’t actually care about the team or it’s fan base. They’re real estate guys who look at owning a major New York sports team the same as they would look at buying a building. Rather than see it as a living, breathing business with a fiercely loyal fan base and rich history, they see it as a money machine that win or lose will continue to fill their pockets. When the day finally comes that we have new ownership (which I presume will be after Bud Selig is gone) we’ll all hopefully see the Mets become the hometown team they used to be and celebrating their actual history.
